Observers: Gil, Pete, Patrick, Olivier, Monica, Michael, Antone, Bob, Abel, Alex, Alison.
Local Civil Twilight at 8:17pm.
Dome was opened at 8:45.
First object acquired at 8:50 was Arcturus. Second object later acquired: Spica.
Acquired Saturn at 9:15 almost due west. The image was clear, with very good and stable seeing, the rings were well resolved, and clearly extended. Four moons observed (possibly five); four were to the right, basically within the plane of the rings, one to the distant left, almost to the edge of the FOV.
We searched for M51, no avail. We need to to get the RA/Dec encoders operating.

Welcome to the McPherson Observatory
The McPherson Observatory is located in the observational dome on the top of the Rutherford Physics Buildling on the McGill University Campus in downtown, Montreal. The main telescope of the McPherson Observatory is an equatorial mounted Schmidt reflector (diameter ~24").
This blog is for documenting observing nights at the Observatory.
